Mick Moran and Tom Young, below, helped the Reserves to a 2-1 half-time lead. And after the break Mike Moran and Terry Hammond retained Cheadle's advantage. But strikes from Dave Holland and Adrian Baggaley ensured a nervy finish to the match.
This weekend, Cheadle Reserves return to Division Two action when they take on Red Bull FC in an away fixture.
Meanwhile, Cheadle United FC are appealing for former players to contact the club ahead of their 40th anniversary celebrations.
